Yes! I do! Yoga is a huge passion of mine and is about so much more than its physical benefits. I do believe yoga is right for every person, every body, and every age. Yoga is not just about movement, and doesn't just offer strength and flexibility, but really helps the student better understand their body's needs. It is a practice in self-care.
I found yoga during a very tough time in my life, after having become very traumatized as a clinician and very exhausted prioritizing everyone else's needs but her own as a midwife and momma of 6. I had become so disembodied I had no self-compassion. In fact, I was so detached from myself, but achieving great success for others, that I really thought I was in a very healthy place. Professionally, I was a success, but there was a sort of chronic nag in my personal life that was unfulfilled. I was often reminding myself that once this "next thing" was accomplished, I could finally really invest in my own health, or find peace and relaxation. It was always just around the corner, right?
Yoga helped me turn in and notice myself. Every day on the mat, I paid attention. I began to listen and not too long after, I began to recognize and honor my authentic self. This is what I want to offer each of you, and the community. While most of our classes are exclusive to my active clients, I do teach once a month to the community and everyone is welcome!
Yoga is True Primary Care
Yoga has demonstrated greater benefit than even exercise and much of that is how it impacts our nervous system, and deregulates stress. Teaching these principles to children can impact their entire lives. Imagine entering adulthood with healthy coping skills and confidence in your mindfulness practice!
